State Fair

Photos at the State Fair

The words that come as you stand staring at a photograph remain still, as life flows on around the same this year as the first
Droplets of water like dreams ripple, some fade along the way, some grow stronger and others crash against the shore and scatter our hearts
Reflections, like days past show us the beauty of life and love
Views into history, along the empty road, they fuel our imaginations and make still our hearts
Bright colors spark memories of our years together and portraits give hope to our future
May we all find something as we view the photographs at the State Fair

For the past few years Rowdy and I have been spending our anniversary date at the Idaho State Fair this came as we were standing looking at the photographs.

Mothers Hands

Hands lay still, palms up as if waiting
to receive a gift, her soul silent
reflecting the moment

The hands tell the story of life,
of love, loss, strength and weakness

Her eyes brighten through the
haze, a smile fills her face

The hands move with life once again,
nervous movement fades
the hands become silent again...

Hands are everything
The flower of life
to give, to receive
welcome with respect, the touch

Still Life

Hold steadfast for time reveals the future
The stones at your feet control your path
Your reach determined by your will
Your exterior twisted by fate is your beauty.

Open

Thoughts- life is so much more than, dishes, laundry, kids husbands and work
Within the last few years I've found myself searching for the unnoticed, passed by, natural, nature, nurture, sights, sounds, smells, feelings... searching them soothes me...finding them calms me and renews me deep within, my soul. How external our world has become. We've forgotten how to nurture our souls. Open your eyes and let them see , reach out your hand and feel it's touch, breath the scent's of life. I would hope that my children will find this peace. I will do my best to show it to them.

Renew

The fountain flows rushing, raging drop by drop
the quiet serenity melts as it begins a new journey
carving, swirling, lying in wait
eagerness gives way to a new season
as the droplets become a trickle
the trickle a stream
the stream opens to a river
giving life as it passes.

Traveling to Salmon Idaho

Natures Gift

Majestic Mountains wither in the wind and rain.

Sea Cliffs crumble under the pounding surf.

Rolling Hills bound with beauty brighten our day.

Jagged points frame the sky.

A rainbows arch reaches the limit of our dreams.

Canyons bleed the stories of history.

Nature is truly the gift to all man and beast.

It knows no mercy nor is it prejudice.

Receive the gift deep within you and you will be a better person.
Knowing there will always be something bigger and more powerful than you.

Flutter By

In the land of the flittering butterfly
freedom is but a breeze away,
entrapment is merely held in a drop of rain.
Shelter has no boundaries,
among the reeds they flitter about,
flashing brilliant white catches your eye
as they travel along the creek,
above the branches and
waltz with the wind as their partner leading them about.
As the butterflies move they join in the dance with each other,
in pairs or groups of many making music with the wind.
The cattails stand guard like soldiers in uniform admiring the dance.

Waiting

The wave, the flash and crackle of long streaming banners has your attention for a moment, then you look up to realize the beauty that surrounds you. The warm sun shinning down, the breeze blowing, the laughter in the distance, mothers playing kick ball with their children, and again the snapping banners fill your ears. The dry grass beneath your feet the flowering clover, dandelions and crabgrass fight for their space among the large fields. As your mind wonders it keeps returning to the hills across the way and the same behind and all around you. Again the banners change the direction of your thoughts. The wind as it fluctuates lifting the banners their shadows dance with the crackling, the colors the flash. Back in the moment you are camping in a field waiting to enter a week long Motocross race. Beyond the Walls

Beyond the walls
Freedoms roam,
Rage and content collide,
Liberty Waves.
Live in or beyond the walls
breath and choose.
B. 8/01/01

When I started this I was thinking about
the walls we all put up in our lives we
become comfortable within our own worlds
(walls if you will) content in our life motions.
Yet there are people in the world who
make a point to break down our walls (our comfort)
to bring harm to us. We have to choose
to stay within our comfort zone or to join
the world in motion. I had the first few
phrases in my head for several weeks
then at the end of August I thought of the
Liberty waves, it seamed to say it all
when thinking of freedom.
I thought nothing of it until 911 happened then it all seemed surreal.

Changing Paths

The path you leave behind
is not the same as the one
you took just days before
changed by intent, presence
and memory.
B. 7/20/01

Your Future

May the path to your future
be your destination.

Paved with cobble stones
laid by your own hands.

Winding,just, through your eyes.

Widened by your spirit.

Lead with your head at the forks
along the way.

Blinding with joy are some days,
yet others darkened, dismal.

When traveling through the forest
don't stay to long in the shadows
to cool from the heat of the open meadow.

Give to the unknown

Touch those you love.

Our Children

The faces that grow on us
change before we see the child inside

before us stands another face
that grows on the world

they are with us but a
brief moment in time

they remain in our
hearts forever giving
us glimpses of the past
and stretching our dreams
to the future.

Remaining still the familiar
face in the crowd

the gift they bring to the world
is all that we have instilled in them

May you see yourself as a gift
to be loved and cared for.
Be all you can
Strive to succeed to fulfill your someday.

I'm not sure this all flows together,
but it was all on the same page.

untitled(for Zelda)

The earth will open,
see her future among the, waves
the colors bright,
of freedom granting life,who's
gloom begins another day, of thought
thought leaves us paralyzed, alive
alive we wounder why, today
today ends only briefly, we sigh.

GIFTS

FACE THE DAY WITH YOUR HEAD HELD HIGH-
No matter how longit takes to get that first cup of coffee
SMILE WHEN YOU MEET PEOPLE-
Even if they just took the last parking space within sight
of the building
SAY I LOVE YOU TO THE ONES YOU LOVE, AS OFTEN
AS YOU CAN-
Hope that they remember you on, or before your birthday
LIFE GIVES US MANY THINGS
IT'S ALL IN HOW YOU TAKE THEM

Time Awaits your Step

Time amends all yesterdays and makes tomorrows history

Time can not erase the unthinkable or negate the massacres

Time can unveil a long awaited question

Time will bring the wrath of man and nature to our lives

Time will rip the land of meaning and beauty

Time will not wait for you to decide, it never stops

Stand today, not on yesterdays promise

Time will reveal your destiny, don't rush past it, create it

Step into today, time is your challenge, a challenge to live now,

to be known, bring your name, time awaits your step.

Pieces of the Puzzle

As I find my words left in journals, incomplete, I also find my thoughts and motions in life to be the same. All but fragments of days past, without thought or vision toward the next. Pieces of a never ending puzzle, yet they seem to run in a circle some how connecting together to remind me that somewhere there is a purpose for what I do or what I strive to be, even though, I not knowing what that really is, continue.

On the Edge

On the edge... of day
light releases portraits
and reflections of life

On the edge... the water ripples
like the sun, rise to greet you

On the edge... to see
beyond the blue grey water
is to see the present

On the edge... receive the gift
of peace and family

all inspired by a visit to Edgewater

On the Edge
Spring awakens you
Summer excites you
Fall renews you
Winter calms you
Life is different on the edge.

Edgewater,
the opportunity to seize a new day
the girl awaits a new journey
the trees tell a story from the past
the water refreshes you
body and soul.

Tennesse

Trees of green I see
like waves in the ocean
blowing in the breeze

Trees of green
along the roads
rivers and fields

Seas of green, I see...

As loved ones pass.

Why do we have to face the day when you're gone,
it seems as if tragedy has run us over,
flooding our minds with fault, grief and memories of the end.
Beginnings fight to burn through our pain, childish days seem distant,
still pictures in our mind not real or reality,
reality catches us off guard we are back in the present,
lost in our lives haste to the end we fight to forget. B
09/18/07 I had to pull off the road to write this one,
I was thinking about my mother now alone
with the rescent death of her husband.

Opening Post

The land above the sky flowing silent, reaching the distant peaks, streaks of life break through the calm, the peaks bring toghether the spance of time, together they reprsent the past present and future. 11/2 /06 B
No real reason to open with this other than it was among the first of many scattered pages of me. Thanks for reading.
