Words-

When I read the words of days past.

Friendship-

At most times I am overwhelmed by all that is my life.
Taking moments to reflect and capture pieces for memories, it calms me.
Friends have come and gone.  With each, lessons learned, souls touched.
Until now, nobody reached with purpose to touch my spirit !

Jan 28 1999 A visit from friends was a gift I will never forget
I am forever grateful to Lynn Vanzandt and Sherri Potter

Thoughts- Oct.1998

Thoughts- life is so much more than, dishes, laundry, kids, husbands and work.
Within the last year I've found myself searching for the unnoticed, passed by, nature, natural, nurture, sights, sounds, smells, feelings
searching them soothes me- finding them calms me and renews me deep within my soul!
How external our world has become we've forgotten how to nurture our souls.
Open your eyes and let them see. Reach out your hand and feel it's touch. Breathe the scent's of life.
I would hope that my children will find this place.  I will do my best to show it to them.

Our days together

We are but the sum of all our days.
No more no less than all our experiences,
but without you I would not stand here,
complete, in love, forever.

You are my friend, my love
as our hearts met they intertwined
and now beat side by side through life together.

Even though this moment is but a blip in time,
I know that my heart is yours for eternity.

10/13/2004

As I find my words left in journals incomplete. I also find my thoughts and motions in life to be the same. All but fragments of days past without thought or vision toward the next. Pieces of a never ending puzzle yet they seem to run in a circle. Somehow connecting together to remind me that somewhere there is a purpose for what I do or what I strive to be, even though I, not knowing what that really is, continue.

Colorado Canyons

Canyons of color

Time has left you to endure, you give us your beauty and peaceful grander

Your cliffs weep sweet sorrow for ancient friends.

Your red veins flow like blood from a battle.

Your portraits of stone etched in our minds forever.

Life questions-list

How does your last breath give way to your soul

How does your last heart beat end your dreams.

Is your fait set by the ideas you wake up with

Can we really choose our future among the causes in the world

Is life really a challenge if you set your own limits,
If you choose to continue or quit?

Going off the deep end , when your reaching for so much more.

How easy is it to get lost in the motions and forget ourselves and our dreams?

WHERE WOULD WE BE

Where would we be …you …and me

Without the man in his old run down truck

With his furry companion in the middle.

Without all the acquaintance’s we met along the way

Without all the souls that have touched us to create a memory

Without loves lost, broken hearts mended and lessons still to learn

Without or diamonds in the rough, Our children

our gifts from heaven at just the right time.

Without the journey traveled the dreams fulfilled or forgotten

And the journey yet to come.

Without the trips down the dusty road or along the river

Without the snow or rain and perfect sunshiny days.

Without all the things that we don’t see beyond our control,

that make our world, everyone’s world go around.

Without the world and everything in it

Without you, where would I be.

Faces

The faces that grow on us
change before we see the child inside fade

Before us stands another face,
A face that grows on the world

They are with us but a brief moment in time, but
They remain in our hearts, forever

Forever giving us glimpses to the past
And stretching our dreams to the future

Remaining still,
the familiar face in the crowd.

What gifts they bring to the world
Is all that we have instilled in them

May you see yourself as a gift
To be loved and cared for.

Be all you can, strive to succeed
To fulfill, your someday.

Flight

Flight
The flight of life takes off Slow and easy,
With lots to see and learn.
Then climbs to a faster pace were
we start to glide into
The gentle, comfortable middle.
When we hit that comfort zone
We start to look higher, and so we climb.
Before we know it we are over the top,
and on the easy slide down.
Take it all in and enjoy the flight,
Before you know it we are looking
at landing.
And the flight has ended all to soon.

The end of days

The end of days is the beginning of forever,
forever no more memories, of secrets, forbidden stories
longing for dreams forgotten with time
lost loves reunite without question

I can only see the end of days because
the night eludes me
days never end, they replay, rewind, remind
eye's that see clearly shut, await the sun

If there are no days there can be no nights
Night imprisons my mind with all that is,
was and will be, my life

Lost Souls

Lost soles tied to earth
beckoned by the heavens
held silent in disguise
freedoms hope searches
love weeps sorrow
reckless fantasies take hold
fear releases broken dreams

everything that is gasps another breath as you lay silent

love awaits your smile forever

THIS DAY
How have we come to this
this comfort, love, life
This day..
As you look at us do you see who we are
can you feel our dreams come true, our future awaits
This day..
Can you see our babies tender faces
and soft sounds of happiness
This day..
can you feel the sun fade as you glide through
the evenings glassy water
This day..
Began with friendship, restaurants and oil changes
This day..
Can you hear the cheering parents
at soccer and football games, Christmas programs
This day..
Do you remember the names and faces of friends and colleges
whom touched our lives
This day..
As you climb into that car can you feel it's power
beneath you pushing around the corners to the finish line
This day..
As the cold steals our breath with beauty and sheer silence
we listen for his call
This day..
A new sound beacons our children to ride forever
This day..
We struggle with our dreams and desires
This day..
As many (to few) the powder hits us fueling a passion within
This day..
A new job becomes so much more, a beginning we never imagined
would take us on a new road, today it is our life blood
This day..
gives us opportunity, freedom, passion, knowledge
This day..
We will give and receive love
From this day forward I am yours Forever

State Fair

Photos at the State Fair

The words that come as you stand staring at a photograph remain still, as life flows on around the same this year as the first
Droplets of water like dreams ripple, some fade along the way, some grow stronger and others crash against the shore and scatter our hearts
Reflections, like days past show us the beauty of life and love
Views into history, along the empty road, they fuel our imaginations and make still our hearts
Bright colors spark memories of our years together and portraits give hope to our future
May we all find something as we view the photographs at the State Fair

For the past few years Rowdy and I have been spending our anniversary date at the Idaho State Fair this came as we were standing looking at the photographs.

Mothers Hands

Hands lay still, palms up as if waiting
to receive a gift, her soul silent
reflecting the moment

The hands tell the story of life,
of love, loss, strength and weakness

Her eyes brighten through the
haze, a smile fills her face

The hands move with life once again,
nervous movement fades
the hands become silent again...

Hands are everything
The flower of life
to give, to receive
welcome with respect, the touch

Still Life

Hold steadfast for time reveals the future
The stones at your feet control your path
Your reach determined by your will
Your exterior twisted by fate is your beauty.

Renew

The fountain flows rushing, raging drop by drop
the quiet serenity melts as it begins a new journey
carving, swirling, lying in wait
eagerness gives way to a new season
as the droplets become a trickle
the trickle a stream
the stream opens to a river
giving life as it passes.

Traveling to Salmon Idaho

Natures Gift

Majestic Mountains wither in the wind and rain.

Sea Cliffs crumble under the pounding surf.

Rolling Hills bound with beauty brighten our day.

Jagged points frame the sky.

A rainbows arch reaches the limit of our dreams.

Canyons bleed the stories of history.

Nature is truly the gift to all man and beast.

It knows no mercy nor is it prejudice.

Receive the gift deep within you and you will be a better person.
Knowing there will always be something bigger and more powerful than you.

Flutter By

In the land of the flittering butterfly
freedom is but a breeze away,
entrapment is merely held in a drop of rain.
Shelter has no boundaries,
among the reeds they flitter about,
flashing brilliant white catches your eye
as they travel along the creek,
above the branches and
waltz with the wind as their partner leading them about.
As the butterflies move they join in the dance with each other,
in pairs or groups of many making music with the wind.
The cattails stand guard like soldiers in uniform admiring the dance.
